The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) predicts that the heatwave that swept across Egypt on Saturday, will hit the peak on Monday.
It is predicted that the weather will begin to improve on Tuesday, with temperatures dropping from seven to nine degrees.
Extremely hot weather is also predicted to prevail in most parts of the country during the daylight hours.
Wind will be active occasionally across the country.
There will also be a disruption of maritime navigation in the Mediterranean Sea with wind speed reaching 50 to 70 km/hr and wave height ranging from 2.5 to 4 meters.
Waves in the Red Sea will be moderate to turbulent, ranging between 1.5 and 2 meters in height with northwest surface winds.
Moreover, most parts of the country will experience moderate weather at nighttime.
Temperatures predicted for the following cities are: 40°C in Cairo, 26°C in Alexandria, 24°C in Marsa Matruh, 42°C in Sohag, 43°C in Qena, and 43°C in Aswan.
